The tide is high - Blondie

On the 15th of November 1980 Blondie were at #1 in the UK charts with''The tide is high' a song written by Jamaican singer songwriter John Holt. This was Blondie's 5th #1 single and their 3rd in 1980. The single also went to #1 in the US charts.
The song had originally been a minor hit fo John Holt's band 'The Paragons' in 1967 and Blondie wanted to keep its Jamaican feel, so they hired 3 percussionists and added a string and horn arrangement. 
The percussion allegedly features 8 tracks of drumsticks tapping on a piano bench.
