The Bitterest pill (I Ever Had To Swallow) - The Jam

On the 9th of November 1997 the  Former lead singer of The Jam, Paul Weller, spent the night in a French Jail after wrecking his hotel room.
The bitterest pill (I ever had to swallow) was released as a single after  their success with the album "The Gift" it never appeared on any of the Bands studio albums, but it did reach #2 in the UK single charts in September 1982. It's probably one of The Jams lesser remembered songs but it is a bit of a gem, with a beautiful soulful melody and a twangy guitar riff at the intro and the bridge.http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=j1SS-NyohKI
"For the bitterest pill is mine to swallow
The love I gave hangs in sad coloured, mocking shadows

The bitterest pill is mine to take
If I took it for a hundred years, I couldn't feel anymore ill!"
