On the 16th of November 1968 The Jimi Hendrix experience went to #1 on the US album chart with the double album 'Electric ladyland'
The album was a mix of R&B, blues and psychedelic and contained such songs as 'Voodoo chile', 'Crosstown traffic' and a cover of Bob Dylans 'All along the watchtower'.
